Deputy Clerk Vacancy

Roade Parish Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable person to carry out the duties of a Deputy Clerk. The hours will be a minimum of 6hrs per week although this will be reviewed and possibly increased with business need, the position is based at our office in Roade Village Hall.

Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and be computer literate, knowledge of Excel and Word is essential.

Specific responsibilities will include managing the cemetery and arranging burials so excellent communication skills are needed. The successful candidate will be confident and enjoy dealing with members of the public.

Experience in local government and a good level of local knowledge is desirable however full training will be given.

The salary is based on the National Joint Council Pay scale LC1 17-19 which is currently £9.705 -10.107/hr.

A certain level of flexibility and independent working will be required as the successful candidate will be expected to cover staff annual leave, occasional evening work may also be needed. The successful candidate will report to the Parish Clerk.
