The Rec and Village Play areas remain closed - Teenagers and a family playing in the Rec on Saturday.

The Rec and Village Play areas remain closed - Teenagers and a family playing in the Rec on Saturday.

This is another reminder that the Rec is closed. It is not a park but an enclosed area with play equipment and following Government advice this remains closed.

One of our Councillors saw a group of 3-4 teenage girls in the Rec on Saturday who apologised and left straight away, as soon as he approached them. There was a separate group of two teenage boys who also apologised and left when approached. Both groups of teenagers were very polite and courteous, however should not have been in the Rec.

There was also a family of four in the Rec at the same time and the two children were playing on the equipment. The dad was quite verbal when asked to leave and eventually left after being warned about the police. We would like to remind residents that the Parish Council won't tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour to it's Councillors.

We have also received notification that another child was seen removing the lock that is on the play area in the Stonecutters development. He then raised his arms in celebration and went on the slide before running off.

Could all residents please respect the Governments guidelines by keeping out of the Rec and other play areas within the village until the restrictions have been removed by the Government. These restrictions are in place to help keep everyone safe.
