Volunteer card/Voucher Scheme

The Co-op, ASDA, Sainsbury's and M&S are offering a volunteer card/voucher scheme. These can be purchased online by residents who are self-isolating and given to their family, friends or volunteers who are helping them with shopping. Works on Roundabout A508/Northampton Road commencing 7th May (Traffic lights) and night closures from 11th May 2020.

We have received a further update from the contractors regarding when they are restarting the works on the A508/Northampton Road roundabout.

Upon further inspection to the site, the contractor has advised that some of the kerbs have been damaged on the left hand side of the carriageway heading towards the M1.

To replace these kerbs safely they will need to put traffic lights in place from 9am on Thursday... Read More »

Social distancing - Railway bridge and narrow footpaths around the village

A polite reminder to residents to adhere to the 2 meter social distancing recommendations when out for your daily exercise.

We would request that should you see someone walking across the railway bridge (joining the Persimmon and Orbit Homes developments) that you wait until they have crossed before attempting to walk across yourself.

Village Seats

Village Seats

The Parish Council appreciates that residents may need to take a rest on the seats and benches around the village when out for your daily exercise, so these have been left open to be used.

To help prevent spread of infection, the Council would advise that after sitting on the seats or benches you thoroughly wash your hands when you get home.

Rec to remain closed

The Village Rec is classed as a play area and not a park.

In the interests of keeping everyone safe and in accordance to government guidelines the Rec will remain closed until further notice.

Grass Mowing in the Village

There's no specific government guidance on the mowing of areas such as highway verges, play areas, sports fields and burial grounds at present. The Government advises that if possible, employees are to work from home, grass cutting contractors are however, unable to do this.
